FRIDAY
Popping Tags
My mum and I spent our Friday hitting up different thrift shops around the great city of New York. It was a breezy, chilly day, so layers were of utmost importance.

We discovered 2 stores with philanthropic connections that make shopping an action for a good cause. If you're ever in the city, definitely check these places out.
Housing Works is a well known non-profit which supports the fight to heal the community of people living with or affected by HIV/AIDS. It is big on ending the dual crisis of homelessness and AIDS, so every purchase in any of their stores is guaranteed to make a difference. From their health programs to their care management, this large organization is dedicated to heal homes and make differences around the communities of New York City.
The business has many different locations around the city, so we hit two Housing Works shops, one in Chelsea (address written above) and one in Soho (126 Crosby Street, New York, NY 10012) . The Chelsea store looked very high end, clean, and sheek. It offered a variety of designer furniture, jewelry, and apparel. The Soho shop on the other hand was a contrasted environment. Its hipster, old school, vintage vibe gives the store personality, and the merchandise they collect is on point. Mum and I managed to snatch a really great quality J.Crew top that I wore on the following Sunday.

Angel Street Thrift Shop 118 W. 17th St., New York, NY 10011
Another store we visited was Angel Street; it held a great collection of furniture, room decor, and stylish apparel. This thrift shop produces top quality merchandise to support those affected or living with substance abuse, HIV/AIDS, and mental illness.
Angel Street is a big contributor to the success of Bridge2Life Camp, a program benefiting the needs of children from recovering families, and Pregnant Women & Infant Program, a therapeutic community program specifically for women who are opiate dependent.
Thrift shops are great places to hunt and discover cool, vintage items, but are also amazing philanthropic opportunities to make a change in the community. Support these stores by taking some trips to these trendy places!
SATURDAY
Beauty in the Eye of the Beholder
With perfect fall weather, some friends, family, and I took a little trip to Hacklebarney State Park for a nice hike. The early morning start was worth seeing this gorgeous landscape, especially during prime time of Autumn. Leaves are falling, wind is blowing, sun is gleaming through the branches, it's a great day.
Styling trendy sports gear is THE BEST. To feel beautiful is to feel healthy, and getting some exercise is the one of the best ways to feel great, physically and emotionally. Taking a nice hike really gets your system energized yet tranquil, earning some major style points while you're at it.
Don't miss the opportunity to embrace this beautiful season at its prime. Soak it all in - brown and red leaves, hot apple cider, warm sweaters, pumpkins, corn mazes - all things that make life worth living.

SUNDAY
Many Blessings
I spent the morning at my lovely home church before heading back to school. It's always a blessing to have this community at home.
Seeing these people brought me back to all the things I feel like I left behind after going to college in search for a new identity. The uncontrollable laughter, the impromptu singing and dancing, my inner crazy. As much as college is a fresh start to become a new person, never lose sight of all the things you were before it all. The people, places, and experiences of the past are what mold you into the person you are today. You are wiser, smarter, lovelier. The plans that await are bigger, better, and greater. But you will always be you.
Cherish everyone around you, through your memories, through your interactions. Spread positive vibes, peace, and love.

I hope you enjoyed this simple look book! Big thanks to my mum for the support of this blog and to my brother, Russell, for taking the time out to photograph these sick pics. You are THE man.
Share with all your lovelies! Continue to spread the good vibes.
XOXO for the praise of His glory,
Gracie
