Today I spent some time crafting some simplistic, minimalist jewelry and it actually came out MUCH better than I expected! I'm very prone to Pinterest and DIY fails, so I gotta say I'm pretty happy with the outcome of this little experiment.
In terms of material, I used Silver Plated wire and some jewelry-making tools (pliers and flush-cutters). To shape the rings, I used a marker to roll out the wire. I actually found myself liking the abstraction of the wire shaping - it gave the rings some character.
To achieve a minimalist style, I chose to make a few X shaped rings as well as layered bands. These designs aren't wickedly bold, but very delicate and sophisticated in its own way. Something important to know: Curving and flattening the ends of the wire prevents sharp metal from poking the skin.
For the necklace, I used a sterling silver chain and added a single loop to the middle section of the necklace to create this simple design. The charm is a piece I created out of pure improvisation (not even joking, it took a darn while). It's two separate pieces of wire shaped as triangles with thinner wire wrapped in an X shape.
With all the free time I've had these past few days, this project was a perfect opportunity to get crafty and spend some down time with myself. Just chilling in the craft office listening to some good vibin' music really soothes the soul.
Hope you enjoyed this! I know I did!
Wishing you all a fantastic holiday season!
For the praise of His glory,
XOXO Gracie
