Lord, I pray for supernatural boldness, to be intentional in building your kingdom, to find peace and understanding in your sovereign plan.
This week I challenged myself to pray for one person everyday. The requirements were to physically be with someone, ask if I could pray for them, and under the presence of God, pray with them.
This was extremely terrifying to me. That thought in itself shows how I haven't been intentionally seeking to fulfill God's mission. But after a convicting message on Sunday I realized we can't delay the commission of making His name known. I shoved all my anxiety and hesitance down the drain and prayed for supernatural boldness, and man, it's been a crazy week.
Here's what I learned.
1) ASK & YOU WILL RECEIVE.
When you pray for patience, God won't magically make you more patient. He'll give you opportunities to be patient. So as I prayed for boldness, I only expected that he would open up opportunities for me to breathe in, breathe out, fight with my mind and go with my gut to pray for someone. I imagined how awkward I'd be, how random and weird I'd interact with people, and how scared I was to approach someone. Alas, God paved a road and made a plan for me each and every day. It's sad how I was surprised that God could work in the way He did. What a reminder that God is sovereign over all things, and he is constantly engineering my circumstances for his full glory.
2) BOLDNESS CHANGES PERSPECTIVE.
It's quite humbling to see the world not only for the sake of my own life. To see actual people, to see their hungry souls, to feel the want and need to tell them about this gospel everlasting. We are the planters of the flowers that he blooms. But to make that step we must start caring for the unsaved. Being bold opens up your eyes to see the hearts around you, and suddenly, you realize this life is not your own. You are here to build the kingdom.
3) PEOPLE NEED PRAYER.
You'd be surprised how many people - believers and nonbelievers - are not only open to prayer, but also heavily encouraged by the care and compassion. We all go through struggles and trials. After all our strength and abilities waste away, what do we possibly have left of our human power? Never underestimate the power of prayer. God always answered, whether you see him working now or later.
What then shall we say? If God is for us, who can be against us? (Romans 8:31)
I challenge you to be a part of this prayer challenge. To be BOLD; Our faith should not stay silent. A few days ago I felt like missions were for missionaries, but we are all missionaries, God has placed us in our fields, and we are to achieve the goals of the mission: to bring glory to God, to make His name known, and share the love of the simple gospel.
I am joyful, I am at peace, and I am assured that God never fails.
For the Praise of His Glory,
Live well and Spread the Love,
Gracie
