Share Your Story: Roots

Asian Americans often get asked, "where are you from?"  And often, are offended by this statement.  It goes to show that it's easy to ask a person of a distinct color or physical feature where their roots lie.  But let's talk globally, let's talk the community around us.
We all look different, we act different, we believe in different things and have different traditions.  This is the second part of the culture and race conversation of the I Am Project.

What inspires you about your race?
What about your culture makes you who you are?
Where are your roots?

These questions I give to you, whatever color, culture, background.
In any creative way, express who you are and how your race has inspired you and made you who you are today.  Simply write I AM __________, and give a little story of what you love about your culture.

As we collaborate together, we will see a global and communal image of what diversity looks like.  Let's celebrate it!
