ADVENTURES OF THE WANDERLUST || Philadelphia's Magic Gardens

I just want to go on more adventures. Be around good energy.  Connect with people.  Learn new things.  Grow.

Hey there, friend! I'm so glad you stopped by! This past Saturday I took a trip with my beautiful friends, Mikayla and Vivian, to the kickin' city of brotherly love: Philly! I must say, this city is really growing on me.  We hit up the famous Magic Gardens on South Street, a non-profit gallery space full of what I'd like to call unrefined art - the most beautiful kind of art.  Here's a collection of memories we compiled throughout our time there.

From the stairwells to the arches, the walls and tunnel paths, these mosaics are so overwhelmingly beautiful to observe.  This fully tiled outdoor mosaic sculpture garden includes all types of materials from bicycle wheels and sparkling mirrors. I probably walked throughout the garden an awful number of times, but with so many little details you'll always find something new to discover.
The gallery was created by Isaiah Zagar, an award-winning mosaic mural artist who has worked on more than 200 public walls in Philly.  He spent 14 years working on this 3,000 square foot space to produce an amazing work of art filled with images and words that give viewers an opportunity to interpret on their own.

We found the most perfect day to explore the gardens: 70 degree spring weather, easy breeze, shining sun.  It wasn't too crowded and everyone visiting was kind and respectful.  This place was pretty therapeutic, to be honest.  Zagar has an amazing way of putting small pieces of items together to make a large scale creation that hits honest and genuine aesthetic.

"My work is marked by events and is a mirror of the mind that is building and falling apart, having a logic but close to chaos, and refusing to stay still for the camera. It is an impossible place, but you can visit and smile and know that it exists somewhere." -Isaiah Zagar
Thanks for joining me! I hope you found this a pretty awesome post - I had a great time exploring and creating this space! Before you go, here are some words for you! Start the day refreshed and ready for the world - work hard and find joy in everything you do. Spend your time in good spaces, feasting on good food, and enjoying your good company.  Lastly, don't forget to smile!

Be sure to check out the rest of this blog and I wish you the best day! You are an awesome human being and you will do GREAT things in your life.
Live well and spread the love.
For the Praise of His glory,
XOXO
Gracie
